Account & data deletion

Applies to the Bubbles app by GradSprint

Delete your account in the app

• Open Bubbles and go to Settings → Delete account.
• You'll first be offered a copy of your logbook by email (optional, recommended — it's a UDDF file other dive log apps can read too).
• Confirm with your password. Deletion happens immediately.

If you can't access the app

Email support@divewithbubbles.com from the address your account is registered under and ask for deletion. We'll verify it's really you before acting, and confirm by reply once it's done.

What is deleted

Immediately and irreversibly, everything your account owns:

• your profile (email address, name, password hash),
• all dives with their depth/temperature profiles, GPS tracks, 3-D routes, events and marine-life sightings,
• certifications, insurance entries, gear, life list, breathing sessions,
• buddy connections and dive shares,
• notification preferences and push-notification device tokens,
• all sign-in sessions and pending email links.

A dive you previously shared and a buddy chose to copy into their own logbook remains in that buddy's logbook — it became their data when they accepted it.

What is kept, and for how long

• Technical request logs (API path, status, IP, user agent) — kept up to 14 days for security and debugging, then deleted automatically.
• A queued logbook export you requested just before deleting — kept until it has been emailed to you, receipt removed within 3 days.
• Administrative records — the fact that an account was created via a given invite and that a deletion took place (without your logbook content), kept as our audit trail.
• Off-site database backups — nightly backups age out on a rolling 14-day schedule; your data disappears from them as they rotate and backups are only ever used for disaster recovery, never to restore deleted accounts.

Before you go

Use Settings → Email my logbook or Export my data first — after deletion there is no way for anyone, including us, to recover your dives.
